DevSwarm

DevSwarm is a desktop application that enables software developers to move as fast as they can think through a carefully crafted UX that lets them switch between the most powerful AI tools with a single keystroke. This innovative approach lets developers work on anything and everything at the speed of thought using what we call parallel AI agents, or “Workspaces.”

Dogfood, to MVP, to Market. Opportunity meets innovation in an oversaturated market.

In 2025, many of our developers began using AI tools, and they were even given the opportunity to explore their own product ideas. DevSwarm was initiated by our Engineering Manager who discovered how to introduce parallel workflows into AI tooling. We had to move fast. While the engineering team built the backend, I translated their ideas into screens. The goal was to have a functioning main workspace, so I focused on creating rapid wireframes to get team feedback quickly and work toward the final UI implementation.

Considering the market is filled with new AI tools monthly, we needed to make sure we could stand out against competitors and define our special sauce.

Because the market is filled with new AI tools every month, we needed to ensure we could stand out from competitors and define our unique value. Myself and the product manager scoured the internet to find as many direct and indirect competitors and compared their features and reviews.

When we asked our team what makes a good development product, they gave one answer: “it feels smooth.” That became the focus when creating the workspace. I created user flows to define the ideal user experience and used these flows to gain feedback from development to ensure I had full understanding of the engineering pipeline.

When creating user flows, I try to supply quick wireframe mockups to build a mental picture to the experience as I'm walking through the steps. This is important because it makes it easier for some people to stitch the experience together through visuals and not just dialogue.

AI has changed the workflow. Testing experiences and functionality has become easier.

AI has changed how we approach workflow: testing experiences and functionality has become easier.

Using Claude Code in DevSwarm, I am able to generate accurate prototypes that are using actual code. This is incredible since I can immediately test the interactive elements and user experience without waiting weeks for the development team to build it. I can then share these prototypes with potential users for feedback. After we gain feedback from these prototypes, they go through a final UI pass for polish.

Conclusion

DevSwarm was launched in October 2025, and we continue to release features monthly. We are actively talking to current users, expanding our marketing campaigns, and enhancing user experiences and education.
